SEOUL, June 15 (Reuters) - A U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) appraiser has ruled to come to an end part of Whirlpool Corp’s (WHR.N: , , , ) unmistakeable case against LG Electronics Inc’s (066570.
KS: , , , ) freezer features, LG said on Sunday. The ruling came after Whirlpool asked the ITC to end the dispute against LG over two patents, LG said in a statement. Three other Whirlpool prominent suits be there pending at the ITC. Whirlpool, the world’s top appliance maker, in January filed a flagrant infringement suit with the ITC against LG refrigerators sold in the United States, saying several LG models overstep five Whirlpool patents. LG has denied the injunction and filed in April two patent lawsuits against Whirlpool in the Federal District Courts. Whirlpool also has asked the U.S. District Court of Delaware, where it theretofore filed suits c seven patents, to dismiss proceedings involving one of those patents, LG said.

In January, Whirlpool filed a plain infraction suit with the ITC against LG, claiming that LG’s refrigerators sold in the U.S. infringed on five Whirlpool patents, according to a proclamation from LG. However, the U.S. throng voluntarily withdrew suits over two of the five patents in the victim in May, and the ITC’s partial termination decision came in June, LG said.
The three other suits are still pending. “We submitted documents with the ITC which show the five patents do not belong to Whirlpool,” an LG Electronics spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires by telephone. In May, Whirlpool also filed a courtship against LG with the U.S. District Court of Delaware over the breaking of seven patents.

The request charges Whirlpool with “wilful and weigh infringement,” demands a jury trial, and seeks trebled damages, LG said. The patents attire LG’s refrigerator inventions for or aqua dispensing, grub storage and obturator technologies. Eleven models of refrigerator-freezers sold under the Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, KitchenAir and Jenn-Air brands are named in the suit, the performers said. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. Shares of Benton Harbor, Mich.-based Whirlpool final traded $7.36 down, or almost 9%, at $74.84. Seoul (ANTARA News/Asia Pulse) - LG Electronics Inc. (KSE:06657) said Friday it had filed a unmistakable contravention lawsuit against Whirlpool Corp., the world’s largest digs appliance maker. In the suit filed Thursday with a federal court in Wilmington, Delaware, LG claims that Whirlpool’s 11 refrigerator models break upon its patents on a vegetable compartment, an icemaker and airtight door gasket.
The lawsuit is seen as retaliation for Whirlpool’s plea filed in January with the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) claiming that LG has violated its patents. “We map to piece Whirlpool with our competitive technology and expand our market share in the U.S.” LG said in a statement.

LG has filed a plain lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of Delaware against Whirlpool to put off Whirlpool’s refrigerator sales based on presumed patent infringement, the Korean company said in a statement.
The lawsuit is respecting three patents LG holds for water dispensing, chow storage and obturator technologies, it said. “LG plans to continue to proactively defend its wise man property rights in technology against competitors’ actions,” the company said in a statement. The lawsuit came in rejoinder to a lawsuit by Whirlpool in January, when the U.S. company filed a patent infringement skirmish against the South Korean company and its affiliates in the U.S. and Mexico.
